Today I had a crit for the 2 week inventory project for design.
The brief was to list a collection that I have and represent it in a visual way for an A3 portrait poster, so I had a go at statistics and information graphics.
I did want to try Processing as a way of creating images from data, but because of all the work that I have to do, I just stuck with Illustrator, InDesign and a simple idea.
I remembered 99% of my collection and wrote them in my sketchbook. It took me a while to realise that I was in fact writing the list with a Batman pen and was wearing one of my superhero t-shirts. Yes, I am a nerd.
I got quite good feedback from this. My design tutor, Antoine, said that it is very well laid out, looks professional and is a good representation of my collected data. The only criticism being that the DC logo is out of place, as the poster is about superheroes as a whole, rather than just DC Comics.
