The Asylum

University project.

Coming to the end of my BA in Graphic Design / Moving Image route, I needed something that encapsulated all of my motion and design work, which would be seen by examiners and define myself as a new graduate trying to break into the art world.

I made my own DVD to show off my films, with a custom animated menu based on a victorian mental asylum. Each of the rooms represented a different pathway, e.g. access to my films and information on how to contact me. It even included an ‘easter egg’ of me working away in my very own ‘bat-cave’. I felt it very important to include several symbols throughout, as nods to who and what influences me.

I also made a small portfolio companion, using an original 1800’s leather book cover, to keep with the victorian / asylum theme.
