The Design Week Awards!

Here’s me, super excited and dressed as Bruce Wayne, on the way to the Artillery Garden in London.

Last night was the awards ceremony for the Design Week Awards 2016, and it was incredible!

Held at the Artillery Garden in London, the Design Week Awards brought together amazing talent from all the design disciplines and showcased the best work of 2016, including print, product design, packaging, brand advertising and so on. So, it was incredibly humbling – and I still can’t quite believe it even now – that I was amongst those who had been shortlisted for one of the coveted awards, for Rising Star:

The aim of this Award is to discover the design industry stars of the future. It is open to those who have been in the design industry for up to three years, regardless of age. Entrants can be in a consultancy, in-house or freelance, but must be working as a professional designer. Entrants can be working in any design discipline.

Unfortunately, I didn’t pick up the trophy but to be shortlisted down to 5 out of hundreds of applicants is an amazing achievement, that will not only give me more confidence in the work that I am doing, but I will also never stop beaming with pride about. The winner was Industrial Designer, Jon Gomez, and you can check out his work here.

I had a fantastic time at the awards night that included:

A big fairground and rides…

A posh dinner…

And all of it would have been nothing without these two…

Lastly, here is my chubby face in a book!
